Wiggly Woo provides the opportunity for you and your children to participate TOGETHER in music and movement activities. The sessions are designed for 1-5 year old children and their carers.
Our aims are:
ØTo have fun while dancing, wiggling, clapping, singing, stamping, listening etc.
ØFor children to enjoy and appreciate music, rhythm and movement.
ØTo help build the relationship of parent/adult and child.
ØTo meet and share with other parents and children.
Wiggly Woo is at Mt Hawthorn Community Centre Lesser Hall. It runs Tuesday (9.30 and 10.30a.m.) and Friday (9:30 and 10.30a.m.) during school terms. (corner of Scarborough Beach Road and The Boulevarde)
Cost is $4.00 for parent/caregiver and one child and $5.00 for parent/caregiver and more than one child. First time is free, so can come and check it out.
No bookings needed.
Wiggly Woo is run by Leigh and Marita, ably assisted by Bevan and Malyn and Heather. We are members of Mount Hawthorn Community Church, which meets here in the Lesser Hall. We run Wiggly Woo because we see the need for activities which support parents and children in the Mt Hawthorn and surrounding areas and we think that music and movement are fun and important for children.
Between them, Leigh and Marita have training and practical experience in all sorts of education, physical education, community activities and raising children. We have been running Wiggly Woo since 2000. Bevan,Heather andMalyn are experienced parents (and in Bevan's case a grandparent).
We all aim to present a fun and rewarding programme for you. We provide the venue, the music, the morning tea and do the washing up. All you need to do is turn up and join in with your children. Remember: the more you participate, the more your children will participate.
Information to help everyone enjoy the sessions.
ØWe aim to start promptly. Arrive early so we can start on time!
ØThere’s lots of time for chatting at morning tea. Please chat then and not during the activity time.
ØSometimes it takes weeks (even months) for your child to actively join in. Be reassured that they are still learning and enjoying the activity.
